Flashcards can be printed
on cardstock to be included in the Number Family Tubs.
Write the answers in pencil on the back so they don't show
through.
Reproduce flashcards
on regular paper to give to the students in their packet
of materials when they begin a new number family. Students
cut the flashcards apart and write the answers on the back
of the cards in pencil. Students place the cards in
an envelope and turn them in to be corrected. I have
a supply of envelopes available in the math center.
Parents are very willing to donate envelopes. I insist that
the student's flashcards are placed into the envelope in
an orderly fashion (right side up and not upside down).
I can quickly correct the cards so the student can take
them home for studying. Scrambled up cards are returned
to the student for straightening out. This never happens
more than once!
